Our demo's have been going down a storm this Summer, we have performed at many school and church fetes and other various Summer fun days. A big well done to all those who have taken part in the demo's you have been excellent!

EASTBOURNE SUMMER CAMP 2010

New this year was our Eastbourne Summer Kids Camp! The camp ran for 4 days through the first week of school Summer holidays. The kids had an amazing time and enjoyed all the activities which included karate training, weapons, sumo suits, bouncy castle, fitness, games, blow up jousting, a massive water fight and much much more! All the kids who attended also received a SAMA certificate and gold medal! Check out the slide show for a selection of pics from the camp. We have received lots of praise from the parents all saying how much the kids loved the camp and were up at 5.00am asking if it was time to go to camp yet!

SAMA KARATE KIDS BRIGHTON INTER-CLUB COMPETITION
A BIG WELL DONE to all the Eastbourne students who attended the SAMA interclub competition held in Brighton on Sunday 27th June 2010. Unlike our other comps this one was a little quieter due to the fact that it was absolutely boiling outside that day and mainly because England were playing Germany in the world cup!!! But this was great for the dedicated ones who went along to the comp as they had a really good chance of taking home some trophies and medals!.
Pictured right proudly holding their trophies, medals and gold SAMA certificates are the Eastbourne students who attended (top row left to right - Lewis, Jack, Jake...bottom row left to right - Luke, Freddie, Leah and Blake).
All of these guys had a great day and gained competition experience...Well done to the parents also for putting yourselves out and coming accross to Brighton...Judging by the way England were useless and got battered by Germany that day I think you made the right choice and the kids came out on top by coming to the comp!!!
CALLUM IS THE 1ST PASS KING!
We just wanted to give a mention to green belt Callum Thomson who trains at the Pevensey school class every Tuesday evening. Callum has been training at karate since April 2008. During this time he has put in great effort
and concentration and this has paid off as Callum has been awarded a 1st pass mark on all of his 5 gradings he
has taken so far! This is very unusual and a great achievement because you need to be of a very high standard
when taking your grade to gain a 1st Pass. So a BIG WELL DONE CALLUM from Sensei and try to keep it going
for your next grading!
JACK THE CHAMP PASSES HIS RED BELT AT 3 YEARS OLD!
Jack Fanning from Eastbourne has just passed his red belt in karate. The amazing thing is this little man was only 3 years old!!!
Jack has been training at the SAMA karate kids class held at Hampden Park sports centre, Eastbourne every Saturday for 7 months.
Sensei Lee Gibson, Jack's instructor says "When Jack first started training he found it hard to concentrate and follow the class, but over the last few months his concentration and effort levels have improved greatly. Now Jack always listens and tries very hard when practicing his karate moves. He trains for an hour within the class, which for his age is outstanding because many children including older children would not have the ability to 
concentrate for that length of time, but this is not the case for Jack as he now puts in 100% effort and really enjoys his karate training!"

2 NEW EASTBOURNE THURSDAY AFTER SCHOOL KIDS KARATE CLASSES
We have just started a new kids karate class at Oakwood Primary school in Eastbourne. The class is held straight after school at 3.30pm on Thursdays. Any beginners wishing to start at this class please contact us to book your childs place
We have also just started a new kids karate class at Stafford Junior school in Eastbourne on Thursday evenings at 5.00pm. All grades are welcome as well as any beginners wishing to start
STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
Well done to James Allchorn and Charlie Roberts who both train at the SAMA karate kids class at St Andrews school every Friday. Both boys were awarded their SAMA Gold Acheivement certificates by Sensei for outstanding concentration and effort within the class. Both boys always train hard and give 100% every lesson!
Again a big WELL DONE to James and Charlie!
KEEPING SAMA KARATE IN THE FAMILY!
This is one family you wouldn't want to mess with! The Neill's consist of three generations all training with SAMA karate within the Eastbourne area.

Starting with Mathew who is 8 years old and has been training since 2007 and is a 4th kyu (blue stripe belt), his father Dan who is 34 and has been training since 2008 and a 6th Kyu (green stripe belt) and finally his grandfather Henry aged 63 who has been traing since 2009 and is now a 10th Kyu (yellow belt).

Henry from Paddock Wood trains at the Eastbourne, Crowborough and 
Tumbridge Wells classes and Dan and Matthew train at the Eastbourne classes. All three really enjoy their karate training and put in 100% effort within the class hoping one day there will be 3 black belts in the family!

SAMA KARATE CAT AT THE EASTBOURNE MARATHON
Sempai Matt and other SAMA helpers were invited along to join in with the new Eastbourne half-marathon which was held at Princess Park on Sunday 7th March. We also had a stall but the biggest attraction of the day was our very own mascott the SAMA KARATE CAT!
Kids and Adults loved the SAMA karate cat along with our instructors he held kickshields and pads for the kids to give them a taste of SAMA karate.
He then went on to visit our grading, which was taking place at Hampden Park Sports centre on the same day and show off some of his moves for the kids and their parents! Look out for the SAMA karate cat again soon!
SAMA PORTSLADE KIDS KARATE COMPETITION
A big WELL DONE! to all students from the Eastbourne area who attended the SAMA interclub competition held at the Portslade sports centre on Sunday 28th Feb 2010.
SAMA Eastbourne students did very well at this comp taking home a nice number of medals and trophies and for those who did'nt manage to win a trophy you still did really well and managed to gain experience for the next comp!
So again WELL DONE! to ALL students who made the trip down to Portslade to compete and look out for the next comp held in Brighton in June
